The yard sign ‘Design the Contest’ started accepting contributions from Hilltop students; the Hilltop Action Coalition and Tacoma Housing selected the first entry for publication by Stanley Elementary student Minara Sugano. We received over a dozen entries this summer and produced 150 signs. Find them around Hilltop! The poster says ‘Everyone is welcome in the Hilltop community’ and features artwork by muralist Jeremy Gregory. Special thanks to all of the young people who put their ideas down on paper, and thanks to TacomaFIRST 311 and City of Tacoma. When the sunny weather returns in spring, submit your design and we will consider your entry for publication; keep watching this page for more information for details.
Close out summer on Hilltop with one last block party. This year, we show support for local vendors, artists, music and food with the 3rd Annual Hilltop Pop-Up Street Sale.
WHERE: Find the Pop-Up along South 10th St, by People's Park, from MLK Jr Way towards M St!
WHEN: We're open for biz from 11am until 3pm!
What is the Hilltop Pop-Up Street Sale? The Pop-Up is a special community event to shine a light on local artisans, independent business, and regular folk. Every year, Hilltop gets together to offer up clothes, jewelry, vintage goods, and other apparel in a unique street sale with new looks and used goods. This is your best chance to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift for your friends and family. All the excitement is sure to work up an appetite, so stick around for tasty food from local food trucks and good vibes from hometown talent. Last year, we had over thirty vendors and two hundred people- this year we're expecting more treats, more crafts, and more people.
Interested in becoming a vendor? Use the vendor application to submit your information to us! Submit your application to present your work, your service, your organization. Registration is open!
